Afternoon sightseeing of Mandawa - Afternoon proceed for sightseeing
of Mandawa - a small town, has many Havelis and temples. The Havelis,
mansions of the erstwhile rich Marwari traders were profusely frescoed
inside and outside and some of these are still in good shape. Visit
the fort - the terrace of the rugged Fort provides a panoramic views
of the town.

Day 03 Mandawa / Bikaner by surface 170

Morning depart by surface for Bikaner en route visiting Nawalgarh.
Continue drive to Bikaner and on arrival check-in at hotel.
Bikaner founded by Rao Bika in 1488. An oasis town among scrub and
sand dunes. The walled city retains a medieval air and sandstone
architecture. Afternoon tour of Bikaner takes you to visit the Junagarh
Fort which is unusual, because other major forts of Rajasthan were
built on hilltops, but this fort is built on the desert plain, surrounded
by a moat.
Afternoon sightseeing of Bikaner - The city is bolstered by imposing
walls and has a 16th century fort housing old palaces, temples and
a mosque. Founded by Raja Rai Singh, the fort is distinguished by
its long range of 37 pavilions, a line of balconies and aerial windows
of varying designs. An enormous arched doorway leads to the Joramal
temple. The royal chapel is Har Mandir where royal weddings and
births were once celebrated.

Day 04 Bikaner / Jaisalmer by surface Kms

Morning depart by surface for Jaisalmer enroute visit Deshnokh.
The Karni Mata temple (Deshnokh) is 30 kms from Bikaner, is dedicated
to an early fifteenth century mystic who was considered to be a
reincarnation of goddess Durga.
The specially of the temple is that it is inhabited by legions of
brown rats which scurry around the complex without aby fear. The
rats are believed to be repositories of the souls of dead charans,
the traditional bards.
Devotees offer milk, grains and sweets to these rats during the
time to Aarti. There are so many rats on the floor that people have
to watch where they step. Sighting a while mouse is considered auspicious.
It is believed that the Maharaja of Bikaner had a vision in which
the goddess asked him to protect the rats and for this reason, there
is bronze wire mesh across the temple.

Jaisalmer across the hot barren desert is magical as the city shimmers
like a mirage. The golden sandstone town walls and narrow streets
lined with exquisitely carved buildings, through which camel carts
trundge leisurely, has an extraordinarily medieval feel and an incredible
atmosphere. The fort inside perched on its hilltop contains some
gems of Jain temple building, while beautifully decorated merchants’
havelis are scattered through the town.

Day 05 In Jaisalmer

Morning city sightseeing of Jaisalmer - built in burnished sandstone
is an intricately moulded wonderland. A full-day sightseeing tour
takes you through this city of gilded magic. See the Citadel, the
fort built by Rawal Jaisal where a fourth of the population lives.
Also visit Jain temples of the 12th to 15th centuries Patwon ki
Haveli, a five-story mansion with carved pillars and murals; Salim
Singh and Nathmalji ki Haveli.
Afternoon excursion to sand dunes with camel ride to witness Sunset.

Day 06 Jaisalmer / Jodhpur by surface 295

Morning depart by surface for Jodhpur and on arrival check-in at
hotel .
Jodhpur is at the edge of the Thar Desert and is the largest city
in Rajasthan after Jaipur. Among Rajasthan's many princely settlements,
Jodhpur is one of the most distinctive. This five hundred year old
settlement was the headquarters of the Rathore Rajputs' celebrations
for their tales of daring. Jodhpur is known for its impressive fortifield
bastions, specially those of Mehrangarh which have bee n witness
to many battles and were associated closely with the history of
the region. The years of peace that followed resulted in the building
of palaces that were laid on open grounds and spread out in an elaborate
European manner.
Afternoon sightseeing of Jodhpur visiting 5-km long Mehrangarh Fort
situated on a 125-mt high hill. This is one of the most impressive
and formidable structures in Rajasthan. Within the fort are some
magnificent palaces with meticulously carved panels, latticed windows
or "Jarokhas" with evocative names. The chambers of Moti Mahal,
Phool Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, the Sileh Khana and the Daulat Khana
are noteworthy for the splendour and glamour of a bygone era. Later
visit the Jaswant Thada - a cluster of royal cenotaphs in the white
marble built in 1899 AD in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh-II.
The tour culminates with a visit to the Museum housed in the majestic
Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Day 07 Jodhpur / Udaipur by surface 259

Morning depart by surface for Udaipur en route visiting Jain temples
at Ranakpur.
Ranakpur, the wonderful 3 temples of the Jain sect dating back to
the 14th/15th century. The unforgettable main Temple dedicated to
Adinatha the first Tirthankar (1439) built in marble took 65 years
to complete. It is one of the five holy Jain pilgrimage centres,
and has one of the best temple complexes.
Continue drive to Udaipur and on arrival check-in at hotel.
Udaipur lies in the Girwa valley amidst the Aravali hills of south
Rajasthan. It is considered a romantic city - with its lakes, gardens,
temples and palaces - an Oasis in the Thar desert. The old city
is a traditionally planned fortified walled city, a maze of narrow
winding lanes flanked by houses with doorways decorated with Mewar
folk art, windows with stained glass or jali screens, massive havelis
with large inner courtyards and shops. The legendary Ranas who ruled,
traced their ancestry to the Sun Dynasty.

Day 08 In Udaipur

Morning city tour of Udaipur - a splash of colour in Rajasthan that
is brighter when tinged with the tones of local lore and legends.
Visit the City Palace, built in 1725, which houses the Dilkhush
Mahal, Sheesh Mahal - studded with glittering Belgium Mirrors, Moti
Mahal and the Palace of Lord Krishna all of which are ornately decorated.
Later visit the Jagdish Temple. This temple built in 1651 is dedicated
to Lord Vishnu, the preserver in the Hindu Trinity of Gods. Also
visit the Sahelion Ki Barigardens and fountains. Later drive around
the Fatehsagar Lake.
Afternoon enjoy Boat cruise over Lake Pichola.

Day 09 Udaipur / Pushkar by

Jaipur was built in the 18th century by Maharaja
Jai Singh II. It is a planned city built with ancient Hindu rules
as the colonial capital of a richly colorful state. It was made
attractive with the pink wash - a traditional colour of welcome
in 1853 in honour of the visit of Prince Albert.

Afternoon sightseeing tour of Pushkar visiting Bramha
temple and Pushkar Lake. The Brahma temple is an important pilgrim
centre for the Hindus. It is nestled in the Pushkar valley which
lies beyond Nagaparvat and the Anasagar lake. This place, full of
natural beauty, holds a special place in the hearts of Indian for
it is believed that Lord Brahma, together with all the gods and
goddesses, performed a Yagya here. Legends also has it that the
ancient lake Sarovar had appeared miraculously, when a lotus fell
from the hands of Lord Brahma and dropped into this valley.Brahma
Temple The most famous temple in Pushkar, this is the only temple
dedicated to Lord Brahma (the creator of the universe according
to Hindu mythology) in the entire country. You can identify it by
its red spire and by the image of a hans(the goose considered sacred
to Lord Brahma).This temple built with marble is decorated with
silver coins and there is a silver turtle on the floor of the temple.
Afternoon city tour begins with a visit to the Maharaja's
City Palace, the former Royal residence, part of it converted into
a museum. A small portion is still used by the Royal family of Jaipur.
Built in the style of a fortified campus, the palace covers almost
one-seventh in area of the city. One of the major attractions in
the museum is the portion known as Armoury Museum housing an impressive
array of weaponry-pistols, blunderbusses, flintlocks, swords, rifles
and daggers. The royal families of Jaipur once used most of these
weapons. Later visit the Jantar Mantar, which is the largest stone
and marble crafted observatory in the world. Situated near the gate
of the city palace, the observatory has 17 large instruments, many
of them still in working condition.

Morning half day excursion to Amber fort with elephant
/jeep ride . Amber is a classic, romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace.
The rugged, time-ravaged walls of the Fort may not look beautiful
from the outside, but the interior is a virtual paradise. Miniatures
painted on the walls depict hunting and war scenes, apart from festivals.
Precious stones and mirrors are embedded into the plaster. Inside
the Fort visit the Jag Mandir or the Hall of Victory. Inside the
Jag Mandir is the famed Sheesh Mahal - a room with all the four
walls and ceiling completely embedded with glittering mirror pieces,
which were specially imported from Belgium during that period. Enroute
to Amber Fort, you will have a brief photography stop at Hawa Mahal
- the Palace of Winds.

Day 12 Jaipur / Ranthambore

Morning depart by surface for Ranthambore and on
arrival check-in at hotel.
Later proceed to enjoy Jungle safari through Ranthambore
National Park. Rajasthan's first project Tiger reserve and named
after a 1000-year old fort which stands in the park . It has a congenial
habitat for the stately sambar, the largest of all Asiatic deer,
woodland, ground and water birds abound in the park including the
uncommon red jungle fowl and varieties of eagles. The water tank
harbours marsh crocodiles and pythons.

Day 13 Ranthambore / Bharatpur by

Fatehpur Sikri - Located 40 Km from Agra, the deserted city of Fatehpur
Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, in honour of the great
Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesized the
birth of three sons to the heirless Emperor. Akbar used Fatehpur
Sikri as his capital and the city was fully occupied for 14 years
but slowly became deserted and ruined after Akbar left the city.
Scarcity of water was the prime factor for the abandonment of this
beautiful city. Visit the remarkably well-preserved, graceful buildings
within the 'Ghost City' including the Jama Masjid, tomb of Salim
Chisti, Panch Mahal Palace and other palaces that speak of the grandeur
and splendour of the Mughal empire at the height of its power.
Continue drive to Agra and on arrival check-in at
hotel.
Later proceed to visit Taj Mahal - Visit the world
famous Taj Mahal built by Shah Jahan in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz
Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. This architectural marvel
is a perfectly proportioned masterpiece fashioned from white marble
that stands testimony to the sill of 20,000 craftsmen brought together
from Persia, Turkey, France and Italy and who took 17 year to complete
this 'Love Poem in Marble'. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays). Enjoy
Tonga ride from Taj parking to Taj entrance gate.

Day 15 Agra / Delhi by surface 204

Morning depart by surface for Delhi and on arrival
proceed for sightseeing of Old and New Delhi.
In Old Delhi visit Jama Masjid the largest
mosque in India. Visit Raj Ghat memorial to Mahatma Gandhi.
Drive past Chandi Chowk, once an imperial avenue of Mughal Royalty
which today is the busiest commercial area of the city. Walk through
Chandni Chowk to savour the ambience of an oriental bazaar. In New
Delhi visit the 12th century Qutab Minar, gracefully hand-carved
for its entire height of 234ft, and the iron pillar, which has withstood
the ravages of time and not rusted even after 1500 years. Visit
the imposing modern Lakshminarayan temple. Drive past the India
Gate (war memorial dedicated to the lives of laid down by the Indian
soldiers), the president's residence fo rmerly the Viceroy's
Palace, parliament House and the Secretariat buildings, - an interesting
blend of the Victorian and 20th century architecture.
Evening transfer to city hotel for dinner
